The Hawkeyes are National Duals champions once again.
That didn't take long... Kylie Welker (180) wins via fall after 41 seconds. Iowa up, 28-9. One more bout before trophy time.
The Hawkeyes are on their way to another NWCA National Duals title.
Kennedy Blades wins via tech fall (11-0) against North Central's Tiera Jimerson. Still two bouts to go, but there's no path for North Central to come back at this point. Iowa up, 23-9.
Iowa's Macey Kilty wins via a 11-6 decision against ex-Hawkeye Bella Mir at 145 pounds. The Hawkeyes' lead is up to 19-9, and that's with Kennedy Blades (160) and Kylie Welker (180) yet to wrestle.
Iowa's Nanea Estrella wins by a 13-8 decision against North Central's Sara Sterner. The Hawkeyes now have a 16-8 lead (and are approaching the strength of their lineup). There's a lot of reason for opitmism for Hawkeye fans right now.
North Central's Amani Jones wins by tech fall (15-3) against Iowa's Emily Frost. That's North Central's first win of the match. Iowa still has a 13-7 lead. Nanea Estrella up next against Sara Sterner at 138.
Iowa has all the momentum here. Cali Leng (124) wins via 3-0 decision against Janessa George, and Iowa's lead is up to 12-3. Emily Frost is about to go up against Amani Jones.
Wow. Brianna Gonzalez, after trailing 7-1 at the end of the first period, comes back to defeat North Central's Sydney Petzinger via a 10-7 decision.
Iowa leads, 9-3, after the first three bouts. About as good of a start as you can (realistically) ask for.

Sterling Dias (103) gives Iowa an early lead with a win by 3-2 decision over North Central's Madison Avila. Iowa up, 3-1.
The championship match between Iowa and North Central is about to get underway. It's a rematch of last year's finals (when the Hawkeyes walked away with a narrow 21-20 win).
FINAL: Iowa 33, McKendree 11
After a relatively slow start, Iowa wins with either pins or tech falls in four of its last five bouts.
Iowa's Kylie Welker pins McKendree's Tristan Kelly in 71 seconds, and the Hawkeyes' lead is up to 28-11.
Iowa is heading to the National Duals finals.

Reese Larramendy (145) wins via decision (6-2) against Savannah Gomez in a bout between the No. 1 and No. 6 wrestlers in the country. Iowa's lead is up to 19-11. Kennedy Blades up next.
Meanwhile, North Central is guaranteed to advance after King forfeited at 180. So it'll be North Central vs. Iowa or McKendree in the finals.
Iowa's Nanea Estrella (138) pins Viktorya Torres after 5:05. The Hawkeyes have a 16-10 lead as they get to the strength of their lineup.

McKendree's Shelby Moore wins via decision (6-2) against Iowa's Cali Leng. Considering how good Moore is, not a bad result at all for Iowa at 124. Iowa is up, 10-7.
Brianna Gonzalez (117) wins by a 9-2 decision. The Hawkeyes' lead is up to 9-4 going into the middle of the lineup. Iowa's Cali Leng against McKendree's Shelby Moore up next.
