Marlynne Deede gets a four-point takedown in the final seconds to defeat teammate Bella Mir, 8-4. Five regional champions, with the opportunity for two more at 170 and 191.

Reese Larramendy becomes the Hawkeyes' fourth regional champion with a win by decision. Marlynne Deede or Bella Mir will become the fifth as the teammates face off.

Lilly Luft (136) had a narrow lead in the final minute, but then she gets pinned. She'll finish second.

Brianna Gonzalez wins via decision over teammate Felicity Taylor at 116 pounds in the finals. Iowa is 3-for-3 on first-place finishes.

Ava Bayless finishes first at 109 after winning via decision (4-2) in the finals.

In an Iowa-vs.-Iowa battle, Emilie Gonzalez wins via decision against teammate Sterling Dias to take first place at 101 pounds at the NCWWC Regionals.

Haley Ward finishes third. Now onto the finals.

Scratch that, all 15 Hawkeyes have qualified. Haley Ward still has a match to go, but can finish no worse than fourth (because of what happened in other bouts).

Ella Schmit loses and finishes fourth. Still qualifies for the national championships, though. Iowa will have at least 14 qualifiers.

Emily Frost (130) finishes third (and will qualify for NCWWC Nationals). Iowa will have at least 13 qualifiers, including at least one qualifier in every weight class.

Ava Rose (125) loses in the third-place match, but she still qualifies for NCWWC Nationals. A big coup for the Hawkeyes as they'll still have an opportunity to gain team points at 125 after Taylor's move to 116.

Iowa's Ella Schmit (143) pins Lindenwood's Rebecca Strong in the consolation bracket. Haley Ward (170) wins via decision. Wraps up as good of a consolation round as the Hawkeyes could ask for.

Ava Rose (125) and Emily Frost (130) each win in the consolation bracket, keeping the door open for qualifying for nationals. (Might still have work to do before qualifying, depending on what happens elsewhere in the bracket.)

The Hawkeyes have 11 qualifiers for nationals so far. The other four will try to qualify in the consolation bracket.

Kylie Welker (170) takes 35 seconds to pick up a win via 10-0 tech fall in the semifinals. She'll face McKendree's Tristan Kelly, who pinned Iowa's Haley Ward in the semifinals.

Marlynne Deede (155) and Bella Mir both win in the semifinals with 10-0 tech falls. Mir did it in 31 seconds. They'll face each other in the finals. Get the popcorn ready for that one.

With Rose, Frost and Schmit all losing so far in the semifinals, Iowa will have some work to do in the consolation bracket.

At 143... Ella Schmit loses via a 7-4 decision, but Reese Larramendy wins with a 10-0 tech fall to advance to the finals (and clinch a spot at nationals). Some visible frustration from the Iowa staff with the officiating in Schmit's bout.

Lilly Luft gives the Hawkeyes a much-needed win (5-0 decision) after Frost and Rose's losses. The in-state freshman advances to the finals and qualifies for NCWWC Nationals.

Emily Frost (130) loses via 8-4 decision to Wartburg's Kylie Rule in the semifinals. Like Rose, Frost can still qualify for NCWWC Nationals with a win in the consolation bracket.

Ava Rose (123) loses via 10-0 tech fall to McKendree's Shelby Moore in the semifinals. Can clinch a spot at NCWWC Nationals with a win in the consolation bracket.

Ava Bayless (109) quickly pulls off a win via 12-0 tech fall to advance to the finals. At 116, Brianna Gonzalez (10-0 tech fall) and Felicity Taylor (pin) both advance to the finals as well.

Both of Iowa's 101-pound wrestlers advance in the semifinals. Sterling Dias (101) wins via a 3-0 decision, and Emilie Gonzalez wins via 12-0 tech fall. They have clinched NCWWC Nationals berths and will face each other in the next round.

Haley Ward (170) wins via 14-4 tech fall, and Jaycee Foeller (191) wins via 10-0 tech fall.

All 15 Hawkeyes move onto the semifinals (and can finish no worse than sixth).

Bella Mir (155) takes 54 seconds to win via tech fall in the quarterfinals. Kylie Welker (170) takes 25 seconds to pin Lindenwood's Katt Mossinghoff.

Not to look too far ahead, but would not be surprised to see Iowa-vs.-Iowa finals in many (if not all) of the five classes where the Hawkeyes have two wrestlers.

Iowa's Emily Frost (130) wins via tech fall and moves onto the semifinals. Like the others, guaranteed to finish no worse than sixth.

Wow. Ava Rose (123) goes from being down 8-0 to being ahead 11-8 and winning via decision. Moves onto semifinals after the spirited comeback. Guaranteed to finish 6th or better. Needs to finish 4th or better to qualify for NCWWC Nationals.

Brianna Gonzalez (116) gets a quick tech fall in her first match of the morning. Iowa unsurprisingly has been dominant in the early rounds of this regional.

The top of Iowa's lineup, as usual, has been excellent early. Emilie Gonzalez (101), Sterling Dias (101) and Ava Bayless (109) all quickly win via tech fall in their first bouts of the morning.

Iowa's Marlynne Deede (155) pins Wartburg's Randi Nicholson in 57 seconds in the first round. Will face Lindenwood's Ryan Garthoeffner in the next round.

That was fast... Only takes 33 seconds for Ava Rose to win via technical fall against Quincy's Autumn Van Bremen in the first round. Rose is the Hawkeyes' 123-pound wrestler here after Felicty Taylor's move to 116.
