Kirk Ferentz expresses frustration about replay system
The Big Ten Conference’s replay system was again the source of Kirk Ferentz’s frustration following the Hawkeyes’ 26-0 loss in the Big Ten championship game.
To no real surprise, Hawkeyes lay an offensive goose egg in biggest game
Nothing was expected, and nothing is exactly what the Hawkeyes scored in a 26-0 Big Ten championship loss to Michigan.
Kirk Ferentz, asked what needs to happen for the offense to be competitive in games like this: "I still think we probably would've been a little better off this year if we had the quarterback we thought was going to be our starter playing."
Kirk Ferentz on the explanation he received after the replay review: "The arm was going forward, but the hand wasn't, which I'm not sure if that's possible mechanically."
Kirk Ferentz would attribute "our offensive performance to (Michigan's) defense."
"They got a really good defense. That's statistically proven. ... And that's not our strength right now, and we didn't match up well."
Iowa DL Logan Lee: "We still got another game. We're still going to come back, and we're going to be a better team. I know that for sure. But yeah, unmet expectations are never fun to deal with."
