Xavier rallies to topple North Scott
In a battle of top-10 prep football teams in Class 4A, Cedar Rapids Xavier scored the final 19 points of the game and tripped up Noth Scott, 26-20, Friday night at Saints Field. North Scott was ranked No. 4, Xavier, No. 8.

Solon tops Benton in 2OT with clutch kicking, goal-line stands
Ultimately, a combination of “ice in the veins” and a huge goal line stand were the difference at Spartan Stadium. Class 3A No. 7 Solon defeated Benton Community, 16-13, in a double-overtime thriller Friday night in a pivotal District 5 battle.
Healthier Linn-Mar rebounds against Muscatine
Dylan Muszynski made his mark right away in his return from injury, taking off on a 65-yard run on his second carry. He finished with 198 yards on 25 carries and caught two passes for another 33 yards as the Lions snapped their three-game losing streak with an impressive, 35-9, win over the Muskies.
‘This is Kennedy football, and this train isn’t gonna stop for nobody’
Class 5A seventh-ranked Cedar Rapids Kennedy spotted No. 3 Bettendorf the first touchdown, then dominated from there for its fourth consecutive victory, 34-14, Friday night at Kingston Stadium.
Western Dubuque is no 1-trick pony
Tanner Anderson threw touchdown passes to three different receivers, in addition to a score by Grant Glausser, leading top-ranked Western Dubuque to a 35-7 victory over Marion in a Class 4A District 2 prep football game at Marion Stadium. The Bobcats scored all of their points before halftime and posted their seventh straight win over the Wolves.

Dakota Johnson rushed for 242 yard on 16 carries and scored four touchdowns on runs of 78, 74, 45 and 4 yards, all in the second half as Decorah rallied.

An Austin Scranton 3-yard touchdown run on the Anamosa's first possession of overtime ended a thrilling 16-10 win at Tipton. Scranton rushed for 146 yards.

EJ Miller passed for 198 yards and 3 TDs, 2 to Brady Kurt.

A 54-yard punt return by Coleton Beasler-Weber sets up Xavier with short field. Eventually, QB Ronan Thomas scores on a 1-yard sneak.
West Branch back in front
Brennen Dale's 1-yard QB sneak gives West Branch a 21-17 lead over Regina. Class 1A No. 3 Regals have 4:13 to respond with their perfect season on the line.

Western Dubuque marched 75 yards on nine plays for its second possession. A lot of Grant Glausser pounding the ball with some passes mixed in at the end. I think WDub switched things up and the second TD was an 11-yard pass from Anderson to Digmann.

Class 4A District 2 Showdown at Marion Stadium. We're expecting a 7:30 kickoff and we should still make it, but it is Youth Night here. it is festive here.
The Bobcats' are led by Grant Glausser, who has already surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing plateau. He has rushed for 1,132 yards and 12 TDS to go with 139 receiving yards and two TD catches.
The Wolvers have scored 79 total points the last two weeks, beating Maquoketa (34-7) and Waterloo West (45-16). Marion rushed for 371 yards against the Trojans, including 185 from Hunter Horak. Marion had 385 yards of total offense, including 100 rushing yards from Horak, 157 passing from Kaleb Diers and 117 receiving by Kaiden Griffith.
